Terms and Conditions

Effective November 5, 2026. Duo connects you with other people for live one-to-one video calls. These terms set out who may use it and how everyone on it is expected to behave.

Using Duo

By downloading or using Duo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Duo on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent the app, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to.

Who can use Duo

You must be at least 18 years old to use Duo. By using it, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you are allowed to use it under the laws where you live. We delete accounts that we learn belong to anyone under 18.

Your account

Duo creates a guest account when you first open it, and you may also sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and must not share it, sell it or use someone else’s. You can delete your account at any time from duoapp.live/account-deletion.

How to behave on Duo

Do not show or share nudity or sexual content; harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone; post hateful, violent or illegal content; impersonate another person; promote, sell or spam anything; or record, screenshot or share another person’s call without their consent. Any content that sexualises or endangers minors is strictly prohibited and is reported to the authorities — see our Child Safety Standards.

Other people on Duo

We do not screen, verify or vet the people you are matched with, and we are not responsible for what they say or do. Use your judgement, do not share personal details you would not want a stranger to have, and end any call that makes you uncomfortable.

Reporting and enforcement

Report anyone who breaks these terms by emailing info@duoapp.live with the time of the call and what happened. We may warn, suspend or permanently remove any account that breaks these terms, without notice, and may share information with law enforcement where the law requires it or someone’s safety is at risk.

Ownership

Duo, including its design, code, text, graphics and trademarks, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer any of those rights to you.

App store terms

If you got Duo from the App Store, Mac App Store or Google Play, that store’s terms of service also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Duo, its content or its support.

No warranty

Duo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use Duo. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and termination

We may update, suspend or stop offering Duo, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these terms; when we do, we will change the effective date above, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms. Your licence ends automatically if you break these terms.

Privacy

How Duo handles information is described in its Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
