Child Safety Standards
Effective October 14, 2026. Duo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to everyone who uses Duo.
Adults only
Duo is for adults aged 18 and older. Anyone under 18 may not create an account or use the app. Accounts we believe belong to a minor are removed.
What is prohibited
Using Duo in any way that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
- sharing, showing, requesting or promoting child sexual abuse material, including in a live video call;
- grooming — befriending or contacting a child with the intent of sexual abuse or exploitation;
- sexualising minors in any way, including in names, bios, profile images or messages;
- sextortion, trafficking, or any other exploitation of a child;
- using Duo to arrange contact with a child for any of the above.
How to report a concern
If you see or experience anything on Duo that involves the abuse or exploitation of a child, report it to us at draj56699@gmail.com. Include the time of the call, the other person’s name as shown in the app, and what happened. Reports about child safety are handled before anything else.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
What we do
- We review every child safety report and act on it as quickly as we can.
- When we become aware of CSAE or CSAM, we ban the accounts involved and remove any related content we hold.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant regional and national authorities, as the law requires.
- We cooperate with law enforcement investigating child safety, and preserve the information we hold when legally required to.
Duo calls are live and are not recorded or stored, so we cannot review a call after it ends. That is why a report with the time and details of the call matters.
Reporting outside Duo
You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to the organisations that handle it:
- NCMEC CyberTipline — the United States’ centralised reporting system for the online exploitation of children.
- INHOPE — a network of hotlines in more than 50 countries; find the one for where you live.
- Internet Watch Foundation — reports of child sexual abuse imagery online, from anywhere in the world.
These standards follow Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy.
Compliance
Duo complies with applicable child safety laws in the countries where it is available.
